For Paperless-ngx

Scan it. Pick a preset. It's in Paperless.

PaperDrop is a document scanner that sends straight to your own Paperless-ngx server, already filed with the right document type and tags.

Coming to the App Store and Google Play. PaperDrop is in development.

Three steps, every time

The whole app is built around the one thing you came to do.

  1. 01

    Scan

The camera finds the edges and straightens the page. Keep shooting for a multi-page document.

  2. 02

    Pick a preset

One tap sets the document type, tags, page filter and title. The last preset you used is already selected.

  3. 03

    Send

The pages go to your server as one PDF. No waiting screen, no countdown.

Made for the server you already run

PaperDrop talks to the Paperless-ngx API directly, so documents arrive filed, not just uploaded.

  • Presets that match your server

Each preset carries a document type, tags and a title pattern, chosen from what your server already has.

  • Clean pages

Color, grayscale, or a black and white filter that flattens the paper to white and removes shadows.

  • Nothing gets lost

Every scan goes through an upload queue. If you are offline or the server is down, it is kept and sent later.

  • See what arrived

Your recent documents with thumbnails, and for each one the values your server extracted, such as the total or the merchant.

  • iPhone and Android

The same app on both, using each system's own document scanner.

  • Yours stays yours

No account with us and no cloud of ours. The app connects to your server and nothing else. The API token is kept in the device's secure storage.

Pay once

$9.99One-time purchase. Planned launch price.
  • No subscription
  • No waiting screens or donation prompts, paid or not
  • No ads, no watermark
  • Works with a self-hosted Paperless-ngx server you connect with an address and an API token

Questions

What do I need to use it?

A Paperless-ngx server you can reach from your phone, and an API token from your profile page in Paperless-ngx. Servers hosted under a sub-path such as /paperless work too.

Does PaperDrop store my documents?

No. Pages stay on your phone until they are sent to your server, and the local copy is removed once the upload succeeds. There is no PaperDrop cloud.

What happens when I have no connection?

The document waits in the queue on your phone. It is sent the next time you open the app with a connection, or when you tap retry.

Does the app read the amounts on my receipts?

The app shows what your server extracted. If your Paperless-ngx setup fills custom fields, for example with an AI add-on, those values appear on the document's detail page.

When can I get it?

PaperDrop is in development. This page will link to the App Store and Google Play when it is released.
